Aiden Markram scores the fastest Century in World Cup history as South Africa beat Sri Lanka by 108 runs.

A run marathon at the Arun Jaitley stadium as South Africa beat Sri Lanka by 102 runs.

The game began with an early wicket of the South African captain but it was Quinton De Kock and Rassie Van Der Dussen scored brilliant centuries to take South Africa I into a strong position as De Kock scored a quick fired hundred (100) and Van Der Dussen a well calculated 108 but it was Aiden Markram who stole the game away from the Lankan with the fastest century in the history of the world cup scoring 106 runs to put a total of 428 to chase for Sri Lanka. 

Sri Lanka came to chase a mammoth total but was set by an early wicket as the opener Nissanka got out on a duck and Kusal Perera made just 7 runs before getting dismissed, Mendis played an aggressive inning by scoring 76 of 42 balls with Asalanka and Shanaka contributing runs as they made 79 and 68 respectively before getting dismissed soon the lower order crumbled by African bowlers and sealed the victory for South Africa by 108 runs with wickets shared among the South African bowlers as Coatzee taking 3 wickets and Rabada, Maharaj, and Jensen taking a couple each.

Aiden Markram was given the Man of the match award for his fastest century(106) in the history of the world cup to conclude the double header of the day as India take on the mighty Australia next in the ICC World Cup 2023.
